Email template is a pre-designed email format that allows you to create consistent and professional email communications. These templates can be used for various purposes such as marketing campaigns, customer communications, or internal notifications.
Here are some key features and benefits of using email templates in D365:
1. Consistency: Templates ensure that your emails maintain a consistent look and feel, which helps in reinforcing your brand and messaging.
2. Efficiency: They save time by allowing you to reuse and customize pre-built content rather than starting from scratch each time.
3. Personalization: You can use placeholders or dynamic fields within the templates to personalize messages with specific details like recipient names, company names, or other relevant information.
4. Automation: Templates can be used in automated workflows or campaigns, making it easier to send timely and relevant communications based on triggers or scheduled actions.
5. Tracking and Analytics: When integrated with D365’s marketing or CRM functionalities, email templates can help track performance metrics such as open rates, click-through rates, and responses.
The diagram below illustrates the steps for navigating to create a new email template.
After creating the template, you can add the content. Refer to the screenshot below for guidance.
In the template above, we've incorporated personalization into the subject line by using a dynamic customer name that will vary with each email. To achieve this dynamic content, we use the format {!TABLE NAME:SCHEMANAME;}. For instance, in the example shown, "gdr_customer" is the table name and "name" is the column schema name. Similarly, you can use any column from a custom table in your template.
